In two decades of Direction and Production Design my work has ranged from traditional theatres to alternative performance spaces, and intimate site specific audiences of 20 to hundreds beyond the fourth wall or working with professional actors, students, and 'amateurs' honing their skills for theatre and film while contributing to the community. The emphasis of my work has been invested in premiering new work or the production of classic playwrights' neglected works not performed before in the city of the current production. My approach to design, unsurprisingly, is often influenced by the visual artists of the period and location of the play, or as a device that enlarges the scope and subtext of the text through appropriate symbolism for the stage.
